Astros Game

Needless to say I'm a little behind on posting.  The other weekend...I think two Saturdays ago we went with some of our good friends, the Sentell's, to the Astros game.  It was great getting to hang out with them.  I think this might have been the first time that we have been "out" with them since the girls were born.  Kinsley is five weeks older than Addison.  We went to Chuy's for dinner first and then we headed out to the game.

The game was fun and we had a really good time visiting with each other.  Cade's favorite part was when Carlos "Leaf" (as he calls him) scored a home run.  Of course I was changing a diaper and missed it.  The Astros lost, but it was good a time.

Cade's First Soccer Game

This morning Cade had his first soccer game.  His team is the Washington DC Sharks.  He was so excited, I felt him tapping me at 6:58 this morning so he could get ready for his game.  So cute!  I got him dressed bright and early and then  Addison had to get ready to cheer on her big brother.  I ordered her a onesie that has soccer ribbon, and it says "Cade's Sister".  It turned out really cute.

At the beginning of the game I think he was a little unsure of how to play another team.  He did really well but was timid to kick the ball away from the "bad guys".  As he got warmed up, it didn't seem to bother him anymore.  He played really well.  Of course, it was cute to see a few of the players not have a clue, it looked like they didn't even understand where they were and what they were supposed to be doing.  I definitely experienced my competitive nature come out.  It was really hard to remember that they are only four and it's not all about winning.

Cade's 4th Birthday Party

So, it's taken me almost two weeks to get this post up.  Needless to say, things have been pretty busy with school starting and now Cade has started soccer and swim lessons.

We celebrated Cade's birthday at our neighborhood pool again this year.  Cade loves it and it is so nice to have the pool all to ourselves.  Several of his friends came and everyone had a great time.  We were glad to get to spend a couple of hours with family and good friends.  I was a little nervous about the weather, the weather guys had predicted a 60% chance of rain, but it ended up being beautiful.  There was even a nice breeze so if you weren't swimming, you weren't too hot.  The kids, and adults, played in the water and slid down the slides (I know that part was a good workout for me...it's hard work trying to touch the bottom and catch a kid who is flying at you out of the bottom of the slide).  Even Addi spent some time in the water!!

When it was time to open presents, Cade was so funny.  After every present he opened, he would so, "Oh, it's just what I wanted."  He hadn't seen half of the gifts he opened before.  It was pretty cute!!  He was so excited about all of his gifts and it was really difficult for him to wait until we got home to open them.

The day was great and I still have a hard time believing that my little man is already four!

Addi Pictures

It's been a while since I've posted (minus the two I just did), so I wanted to post some pictures of Addi to show how much she is growing!  I keep a liitle photo album in my purse of pictures of her because we are constantly running into people who haven"t seen her.  At school today a few of my parents asked to see pictures, and when they were looking at them I realized it was time to update the album.  She has already changed quite a bit.

Our Little Man Turns 4

I can't believe how fast time flies.  It seems like yesterday that we welcomed Cade to the world.  Today he turned four and I can't believe how much he has grown.  Every day is a blessing with him and he definitely keeps us entertained.  The things he says and the faces he makes are priceless.  You have to be careful what you say around him because you never know what he'll repeat.  I look at him and I am so proud of the little boy he has become!

Cade 08-20-06

Last night we made Batman cupcakes for his little birthday party at Ashley's.  He is Mr. Helpful and wants to do everything he can to help.  He was so proud of how they turned out!

This morning he woke up bright and early (5:30) to come and tell us that today he was four years old.  We gave him one of his presents...a Texans jersey.  Cade is really into sports now and everyone is a good guy or bad guy.  The Texans are the good guys, so he was pretty excited to get a jersey.  Here's a little story to support that everyone is a good guy or bad guy.  The other day my assistant principal pulled up beside us in the car.  Cade waved and smiled at her.  She pulled up a little ways and he noticed a huge sticker on her back window.  It was a large logo for the Dallas Cowboys.  He looked at me as serious as could be and said, "Mom, your boss likes the bad guys?!"  It was hilarious!!

Anyways, after school I picked Cade up and we met Darrell and Addi at Wings and More to celebrate his birthday.  Happy Birthday Cade!!

Totally 80's

Last Saturday we celebrated a guy from our small group at church, Larry's, birthday.  It was an 80s theme, so of course Darrell and I needed to find something to wear.  We went to Burlington Coat Factory (which was an experience itself) to find our outfits.  Suprisingly it wasn't difficult.  I thought we looked pretty good.

An Afternoon with the Quads

Sunday we went over to our good freinds' house the Meijers, in case you haven't heard they have precious quadruplets.  Each time we are with them we enjoy hanging out and have many laughs.  When we arrived to the house, all of the kids were down for their naps....

Then the fun began.  Cade couldn't wait to see "all those babies."  He was anxious to get to play with all of them.  Once they all got up, the boys were ready to play.  Kale loved Cade!!  He would just laugh at everything he did. 

At the Meijer house, babies are not allowed to leave the living room (the rest of the house is closed off by a gate).  However, today was a new day!  The gate was opened and you wouldn't believe how excited the kids were.  Cade, Parker, Kale, and Landon (Gracie would join the fun later) would run back and forth and back and forth and laugh, laugh, laugh!

Everyone was in such a good mood that we thought we would attempt to get a picture of all of the boys together.  As you can tell, no such luck....but it was fun trying.

The most entertaining event of the afternoon was Gracie's feelings towards Addi.  Let's just say that she was not too fond of her.  We realized this when I held Addi up to Gracie, who was being held by Marcel, and she freaked out!!  She started pushing Addi away, shook her head "no", and grabbed onto Marcel.  It was hilarious!!  It was so funny that we kept doing it trying to get the perfect picture to show how upset Gracie was.  We didn't get it...this picture looks like Gracie actually likes Addi.  Don't be fooled!!

Parker on the other hand was quite fond of Addi.  Do I hear wedding bells in the future???

We had a great time hanging out with everyone.  The night was finished up with Cade chasing Gracie around the couch.  When he would stop, she would walk up to him and look at him trying to get him to do it some more.  Cade loved the attention and played some more.  He was great with all of them!! I got to enjoy some quality Yo Gabba Gabba time with the boys. 

Our visit with everyone was great! We can't wait to do it again.
